Memorial exposition "Laslo Nagi" - Smolyan (to the structure of the historical museum in the town of Smolyan)

The collection was opened on 30.X.1981 in Geordiev's house(in a quarter of Raikovo), it is a monument of the Rhodopean architecture from 19th. century. It occupies 200 m2 exhibitions area, multifunctional hall with 50 places and a projection booth.
The collection presents Laslo Nagi (1925-1978), a famous Hungarian poet, publicist, translator of Bulgarian folk songs and poetry, painter, an International Botev's Prize winner (1976), honoured citizen of Smolyan (1976). The great merit by Laslo Nagi to Bulgaria and to the Rhodope mountain is, that he has made easy to understand our songs and the best work of Bulgarian poetry to the Hungarian reader audience.
Trough hand-written working of the poet, translations, painting, personal things and photographs is shown the work by Laslo Nagi in Bulgaria - from the end of 40's till 1978 - his student years, his first traveling throughout Bulgaria to study its cultural heritage, his meetings and lasting relations with Bulgarian poets and writers in Smolyan and in the Rhodope mountain.
On the entry of the house is hanging a bronze bas-relief by Yanosh Oros - "The poet with a flower". It is donation from Hungarian embassy. With the support of the embassy there are given more exponents and it was furnished a traditional room in country-style, corresponding to the spirit of the native town by Laslo Nagi.
In the yard area is exposed a thematic collection "Laslo Nagi in the work of Bulgarian painters", presented by pictures, black and white drawing, sculptures.
Constantly, in the special arranged hall for temporary exhibitions are shown thematic collections, also pictures, drafts by Shandor Lazar on the poetry by Laslo Nagi and by other writers.
