On 2nd July in Smolyan is going to be held a meeting with representatives of business. The meeting is organized by The Ministry of Economy. The Minister of Economy Lidia Shouleva is going to take part. The organizer of the meeting is PR Agency “Janev&Janev”- Sofia. The appointment is going to be opened by the Smolyan Regional Government eng. Dimiter Palagachev and the Smolyan Mayor Ms. Dora Yankova. The topics for discussion are “Alterations in the Law for Tourism” and “Executive Agency for stimulating of trade”.

From 13th June to 19th June in Sweden held practical training. The topic was “Tourism Clusters”. There were representatives from the whole country. Representatives from Smolyan were the Regional Government and Chairperson of Board Council of Rhodopes Regional Tourism Association eng. Dimiter Palagachev; executive director of Rhodopes Regional Tourism Association Georgi Pamporov; Smolyan Mayor Ms. Dora Yankova and Director of sector “Specialized Administration” in Regional Administration-Smolyan Momchil Karaivanov.

In the end of June Smolyan Region is being visiting by a business-delegation from The State of Meine, USA. The visit is taking place from 20th to 24th June. In Smolyan the delegation had a meeting with the Mayor, the Regional Government and representatives of business. Also the delegation is going to have a meeting with the Mayors of the other cities that they are going to visit- Chepelare, Madan, Zlatograd and Devin. Meiners will be able to see our nature phenomena.

Very soon is going to be finished the process of creating of “Strategy for development of Tourism in Smolyan Region”. The project belongs to Rhodopes Regional Tourism Association and is implemented with the financial support of Institution “Bright Society”. For the purpose of the Strategy were hired two consultants from Sofia- Nikolay Ylchev- lecturer and Liubomir Popiordanov- lecturer and Chairperson of Board Council of Bulgarian Association for Alternative Tourism. In connection with the Strategy there were organized some additional undertakings: an international forum- Balkan Conference “Partnership in Tourism for Regional Economic Development” and training seminar “Raising of competitive abilities of regional tourism product through applying European standards for offering tourism services and increasing of their quality”.
